Now more than ever it’s important to think about the diversity of places you support with your money. By shopping from Black-owned stores this holiday season, not only will you sprinkle a little joy into a loved one’s world during a particularly lonelier festive season, but you’ll also be helping to keep Black businesses running. Many have been forced to shut down at disproportionate rates over the course of the pandemic.

If you're like most people, you probably search the same online retailers year after year to find the perfect gift for your loved ones on your Christmas list. But that doesn't have to be the case this time around. Supporting a diverse range of companies is not only the right thing to do — it's good for the economy.

One of the most direct and sustainable ways to support the Black community is to shop at Black-owned businesses, many of which have also been disproportionally affected by the coronavirus pandemic.

There are many things you can do to support the Black community right now, but spending money with Black businesses is one of the easiest, and you can do it without turning away from your phone or laptop.
